Workshop Content Build up your social dancing musicality skills from the ground up until you reach your limits! This workshop is to going challenge everyone. We start from the very beginning by understanding the music, and doing various partner drills. We practice different ways to hit the breaks and learn how to style your dance according to the music. We are going to cover techniques that helps you dance on slow acoustic music or fast hip-hop. More advanced concepts, such communication during the dance or mapping the music will also be discussed and practiced. What can a follower or a leader do to make the dance more musical? How can they work together and create magic on the dance floor? Come and find out!
Workshop Level Requirements As an absolute minimum level to enter the workshop we expect you to be able to lead or follow all basic patterns comfortably, so that you are able to listen to the music and follow instructions while you are dancing. Some of the classes that discuss more advanced techniques requires more than just the core basics, and we recommend that for those leaders and followers who are already capable of incorporating some styling elements or can already hit breaks in the music. Half of the classes on both Saturday and Sunday are marked as "Easy Fundamentals", those are the classes that can be attended with the absolute minimum requirements, the rest require more knowledge, and basics of musicality. If you have never taken musicality class before, we recommend the "Easy Fundamentals", or the full package if you want the extra challenge.
If you are one of our regular student you must have completed Level 1 series to enter the workshop. If you have not completed our Level 2 series you should probably go only for the classes with the "Easy Fundamentals" label. Level 3 and above can take the full workshop.
